About

If you’re curious about what to do, see, and eat in Nashville, are contemplating a big move to the area or the South in general, or are navigating your own journey in life, you’ve come to the right place!

Our Southern Journey is a blog about many things (mainly, because I couldn’t focus on just one topic!). On the surface, it’s a place where I share about all things Southern from a newcomer’s perspective – restaurants, experiences, and vacation spots, with Nashville as our incredible home base. After years of living in Nashville, and since Brady and I are always up for new experiences, I’ve developed a pretty extensive repertoire of things to see and do around Music City that I wanted to share. On a deeper level, I wanted to create Our Southern Journey as a place to share lessons learned, challenges overcome, our journey in faith, and everything in between – in hopes to encourage others who may be encountering the same things on their own journey.

I truly hope you enjoy reading my take on amazing spots we’ve discovered, both around Nashville and during our travels, and hope this may inspire you to have a southern journey of your own!

About Me, Personally

I absolutely hate talking about myself, but here it goes! I’m Briana, a born-and-raised San Diegan who loves my husband, family and friends, dogs, country music, all things Disney, utilizing my creative side and traveling any chance I can! My husband Brady and I met in San Diego, and got married in a beautiful setting on a beautiful day amongst family and friends in 2019. Five months later, the pandemic hit, and our life has been an exciting journey ever since! Like many others in 2020, we had a chance to reflect on what we wanted in life, and evaluate where we could see ourselves in the coming years. We moved to Nashville with our mini doodle, Lady, just two months after first visiting in October 2020, and we were on our way to our southern journey!

On a professional level, I have worked in the marketing world since 2014, where I have had the opportunity to do what I love: collaborate with other creatives, and express myself through writing. In 2013, I started my first blog, SipSavorSeeSD, where I covered restaurants, events, and things to do all around San Diego. I took a hiatus from blogging for a while, until a recent epiphany while sitting in a coffee shop near my home in Nashville. I realized that I needed to start writing again, both as a creative outlet for myself, and to share our journey of moving to the south, and life’s ups and downs to hopefully encourage others.

If you want to say hi, or collaborate together, please reach out to me, it would make my day!

Thanks for visiting!
